Fix NVIDIA GeForce Experience Error Code 0x0001

GeForce Experience has provided a great experience for gamers but sometimes they experience this Error Code 0x0001 when they try to use the GeForce Experience software.

The error will read “Something went wrong, try rebooting your PC and then launch GeForce Experience, ERROR CODE: 0x0001

Here are a few methods we will use to fix this error.

  1. Update to latest Nvidia Driver
  2. Uninstall and Install Latest NVIDIA GeForce Drivers
  3. NVIDIA Display Driver Services on Windows Service Manager

1. Update to latest Nvidia Driver

Try updating to the Latest NVIDIA GeForce Drivers by downloading the latest driver from the NVIDIA GeForce Drivers website as you won’t be able to update the drivers directly using the NVIDIA GeForce Experience software.

If there is no update available and you are already in the latest version of NVIDIA GeForce drivers then download the beta version. You can download the beta version of the Nvidia driver here. Go to the site and choose your Graphics card to download the beta driver and install it.

2. Uninstall and Install Latest NVIDIA GeForce Drivers

Go to Add or remove programs by typing Add or Remove on Windows 10 search bar and then search for Nvidia Geforce and click on Uninstall button to uninstall the Nvidia driver.

Now download the latest version of the driver form NVIDIA GeForce Drivers website here and install it.

Now check whether the Error Code 0x0001 problem is fixed.

3. NVIDIA Display Driver Services on Windows Service Manager

Open the Windows Service Manager by searching for services on the Windows 10 search bar and open the Services application. Or open the Run command with the Windows Key + R button and type services.msc and hit enter to open it.

Now search for the Nvidia services named below and check whether they are working and the startup type is set up correctly as shown below.

NVIDIA Display Container LS – Startup Type = Automatic

NVIDIA NetworkService Container – Startup Type =Manual

NVIDIA LocalSystem Container – Startup Type =Automatic


NVIDIA LocalSystem Container – Startup Type =Automatic

NVIDIA GeForce Experience Service – Startup Type = Automatic (Delayed Start)

NVIDIA Geforce Experience Backend Service – Startup Type = Automatic (Delayed Start)

NVIDIA Telemetry Container service – Startup Type = Automatic

After checking if you found that one of the Nvidia services are not running right click on the service and click on Properties option.

Here you can change the Startup Type of the service. After changing you have to click on Apply button.

Now check whether the Error Code 0x0001 is fixed by restarting your computer and opening the NVIDIA GeForce Experience.
