How to Get New File Explorer Interface on Windows 10

Everyone got excited when they saw the awesome new File Explorer design that is shown in the latest windows promotion video. But even if you are in the fast ring in the Windows Insider Program you won’t be able to access the new Universal Windows Platform based file explorer design present in the windows 10.

These design changes are meant to be released for the Windows 10 20H2 update planned this year.

This New File Explorer is tested by us on Windows 10 OS Build Version 19645.1 and it works well. So try this on the latest version of Windows build to get the best experience.

To activate the new Windows 10 File Explorer Design follow the below steps

  1. Open your File Explorer app on your Windows 10 computer
  2. Copy the below code and paste it on the file explorer bar and press Enter
shell:AppsFolder\c5e2524a-ea46-4f67-841f-6a9465d9d515_cw5n1h2txyewy!App

Now you will see the latest File explorer will be activated and it will open as a separate application.

Now you can pin this new File Explorer to your Taskbar by right-clicking on the icon and choose Pin to Taskbar.

I hope you were able to get the new file explorer working. Do note that this file explorer is still under development and many of its User interface might change when its finally released.
