CHKNTFS /X G:

Press Enter. Now windows has been told not to check (X) drive mentioned (G) on the next reboot. 

3. Reboot the system manually. ChkDsk will not run now. 

Again open Command Prompt and run the command:

Chkdsk /f /r g:

4. The dirty bit will be unset now as it takes you through the five stages of the scan. Now execute:

fsutil dirty query g:

5. Windows will now confirm that the dirty bit is no more on the drive. 

6. Reboot to see if the issue has been fixed. 

Method 5: Run ChkDsk on External Drive

If you have some external drive, you must disconnect it and see if the issue resolves, or run ChkDsk on the external drive to locate the problem. 

Method 6: Opt for Alternative Disk Error Checking Tool

Sometimes this pop-up Restart to repair drive errors might be a false positive and you must in that case try checking the drive with some Alternative Disk Error Checking Tool.

Method 7: System Restore
