Xbox Game pass Multiplayer online not working Fix – PC

We bought the Xbox Game Pass for PC few days ago and when we tried to play Co-op multiplayer games online, we were not able to connect to multiplayer games server to play with our friends.

When I tried to connect to multiplayer on Overcooked it shows unable to connect to server error and in No Man’s sky after joining my friends session I got the message ” Failed to join lobby, Session host server not available”.

1. Open the Windows Settings Application.

2. Now select the Gaming option as shown in the screenshot below.

3. Then choose Xbox Networking option on the left menu.

4. Now the Xbox Networking check will automatically start. If not click on the Check again button.

5. Under the Xbox live multiplayer option check whether you can get the following connection successfully.

NAT Type : Open

Server Connectivity : Connected.

If the server connectivity is not connected then you will not be able to play Gamepass games with multiplayer on your PC.

If the Server connectivity is not connected then follow the below steps.

1. Fix Windows Teredo connections Firewall issues with Terminal

1. Open terminal as administrator by using Start > Terminal > Right click and select Run as Administrator

2. Then type in the following command. This will fix the firewall issue that will not allow multiplayer to work with Game pass servers.

netsh advfirewall firewall show rule 4jxr4b3r3du76ina39a98x8k2

3. You will get the following output which means the firewall rules to make the game pass online multiplayer work is not implemented on your windows PC.

No rules match the specified criteria

4. If you don’t get the above message, then run the next command below

netsh advfirewall firewall set rule name="4jxr4b3r3du76ina39a98x8k2" new enable=no

This will fix the firewall issue and make the server connectivity work.

2. Check your Internet Connection

Make sure your internet connection is working perfectly without a massive delay. You can check it on google using its own Internet speed test tool.

3. Check and correct your Time and date on your PC.

Sometimes when the time and date doesn’t match with the current time of your time zone, there will be an error when connecting to online multiplayer servers like the Microsoft game pass server.

4. Enable Windows Firewall if you have disabled it

If you have disabled the default firewall rules and disabled the firewall make sure you enable it because some games use firewall rules to allow access to the internet for the application.
